vintage milk bottle cap

Yea, people collect milk bottle caps and I have at least 500 more of these! I sell these 48 at a time and I only start them at 3.00. Sometimes I get 3.00, sometimes I get more. The reason this is one of my favorite finds is that I got over 3 cartons of these at a local estate sale and only paid 1.00 for all of them. They are brand new and never used but they are for vintage milk bottles and are probably from the 1960s or so. I remember this dairy and it has not been in business for quite a while. 3.00 doesn’t seem like much but I keep relisting them over and over and it adds up with very little effort since once the auction is up and running it only takes one click to relist it.

My next favorite find this week is the Boehm porcelain flower. This is my favorite because it was a found treasure at the local auction. I bought one of those famous box lots that I love for about 3.00 and there was something else in it that I was interested in—-I forget what! When I looked at the other items in the box I pulled out this very pretty porcelain flower. I got out the magnifying glass to read the name on the stem and it read Boehm. I went right to eBay to look it up because I had never heard of Boehm before. (hey I don’t know everything!) I saw some other very pretty flowers and sculptures made by Boehm and some of the larger ones were going for 100s of dollars–check it out yourself! So I listed it right away and even though there was a very tiny flaw in the one petal, it sold for 36.55. I’m lovin’ eBay again!

Almost the same thing happened with the Commodore 64 plug and play. I got this at the same auction that I bought the Boehm flower. It’s not a vintage item but it actually plays 30 vintage games just by plugging it into the TV. My son-in-law was with me at the auction and he wanted it so I think he bid about 5.00 for it. He actually got 4 of them for 1 price and only wanted the 1 so he gave me the rest. Thanks, Scott! I sold the first one for 42.98. I just listed the second one last night and I have one more after that is over. HINT: don’t list same items at the same time unless you want to compete against yourself! Someone else asked about the room. I think most of the rooms on our floor (third floor) were the honeymoon suites. They could be slightly different from this video but probably very close to it! The honeymoon suites had a sash across the door welcoming the couples and there were quite a few on our floor and I think the rooms are all the same on this floor. Some were facing the ocean like ours but others were not. Just ignore the funny man (my husband) in the video. We made these videos mainly for our family! but I am happy to share the resort with you.

Someone asked if I would post photos of the Caribbean party. It was dark and this video is not real clear but it gives you an idea! The food was awesome and there was so much of it. The regular dishes are in the silver servers and there was a bread table, a sushi table, a chef making paella, another chef grilling whatever you wanted, and of course, the desserts on the cart. The music and dancing lasted about an hour after the food. You could get any drinks you wanted and they had a craft show from the locals. The weather was so beautiful at that time of night–7-9PM with the moon out over the ocean. The party was right in front of the pool. The waiters all wore the big straw hats.

and yes this place is awesome!

I only had 4 tables this time because I gave one to my son to sell stuff. He sold about 25$ and I sold about 170 $ just today. There is still tomorrow. I sometimes waited on 2-3 customers at once. Some people take a lot of time getting out their $$ so I just stick out my hand to take someone else’s 50 cents or 1.00 while I am waiting and then I might have 2 people digging in their purses for their money! It can get crazy but that is how I like it!

The Christmas items were still selling pretty well. People were buying purses and books and bottle openers and dolls and all kinds of knick-knacks. I had Barney back packs and tablecloths and a box of old paper for 50 cents a piece. People love to look through the pile.

Some of the grandkids...Merry Christmas!

I hope you’ve been shopping at eBay this Christmas! I buy more and more online each year. I know some people like the crowds at the mall and getting the chance to touch and smell everything before you buy it. But I like to sit in my pj’s at the computer and comparison shop and make my decisions without having to battle the traffic and the weather. I bought most of my son’s presents on eBay and Amazon this year. He wanted vintage video games and such (he’s 26). That was easy on eBay! I got some other electronics for other members of the family for a great discount too. Can’t mention what—I think some of them read this! I did a lot of shopping at Land’s End this year because I could have my girls look through the print catalog at my house and then I ordered online after they made some choices. Easy!

neat paperweight for sale!

I sold a lot on eBay the last few weeks also. My new Italian leather gloves are a very good sell and I sold quite a few socks for your crocs—still have some of those left. I had about 15 Thomas the tank Engine playmats and now there are only 2 left. My specialty is of course, the vintage items and these sell great at Christmas too. My 3 FAVORITE FINDS this week are:

2. 1938 Lionel train catalog that I found in my husband’s old attic. Sold for  22.50. Also had 3 others from later years that sold between 12.50 and 22.50.

3. 1928 copy of sheet music “Shortnin’ Bread” that I bought in a pack of music for 1.00 the whole pack. Sold for 9.51 and there’s a lot more music in the pack! Cute illustration of an aunt jemima figure on the front.
