Vanity Fair purple nightgown

Vanity Fair purple nightgown

Never realized how popular nightgowns and pjs were on eBay until I started listing them. Sometimes they sell almost as fast as I can list them! This purple nightgown might be vintage, I am not sure. It is from Vanity Fair and the tag looks vintage. I have it listed for 17.00 at everythingvintagesteph.com.

Victoria's Secret robe

Victoria’s Secret robe

I love finding Victoria’s Secret items! I’m not sure if I got this at the thrift store or the Goodwill clearance store but it was a great find! Selling this one for 18.00. Not ashamed to say that I paid less than 1.00 for it!

Lord & Taylor nightgown

This one sold the same day that I listed it. So it’s gone! It is a Lord & Taylor flannel nightgown that was never worn. Sold it for 18.00

And another Victoria’s Secret item I found at the Goodwill clearance bins! It feels like new and features a unique comic style design. This one is listed at 19.00 at everythingvintagesteph.com.

So next time you are at the thrift stores, check out the lingerie and nightgowns. (slips sell well too!). Or check out my inventory at everythingvintagesteph.com. Thanks for stopping by!

bidding at an auction

bidding at an auction

Kind of looks like everyone is at an funeral instead of an auction! I go to auctions a lot. I used to go every week but now I go about 1-2 times a month. This is an outside auction where everyone bids on box lots. A whole bunch of junk is thrown into a box and the boxes are lined up in rows. Then the auctioneer walks down the rows and takes bids on a box at a time. Sometimes he puts a bunch of boxes together. You’ve got to register and get a number first and then you never know what’s going to happen!

At this auction, you can throw anything you don’t want into the “dumpster.” This dumpster is motorized and follows the auction progress. If you want to take anything out of the dumpster, you’ve go to pay a 1.00! “Otherwise, hands off!”

ladies at an auction

There’s a few women here, but mostly old men!

Santa Claus at the auction

Oh, Santa Claus is here too.

old bottles

old bottles

I was thinking about bidding on these bottles. I got a few other boxes though of  fabric and books. Some old guy gave me a box of toys he didn’t want. I later gave him some tools I didn’t want. We don’t fight each other at this auction.

patriotic auction

We’re patriotic too.

auctioneer

auctioneer

The auctioneer’s kinda cool with his cowboy hat and carnival cane. He taps every box so you know what you’re bidding on. The outside part of this auctions lasts about 3-4 hours sometimes! Another auctioneer is selling nicer junk inside.

auctioneer's motorized podium

auctioneer’s motorized podium

When the outside part of the auction is over, we go to a back room inside. There is another auctioneer that does that room. He uses this home made podium on wheels. It is motorized and he drives it around the room! Never saw another like it!

junk jewelry

This is my favorite part of the auction though because they have everything laid out on the tables and you can sometimes bid on the entire table or half table or however the auctioneer decides to divide it up. You gotta be fast though or you’ll lose the bid!

Auctions are a lot of fun and you can come home with some great JUNK! Check it out at everythingvintagesteph.com.

vintage napkins

vintage napkins

In the 50s and 60s it was very common to receive kitchen and dining linens as wedding gifts. Many times, these gifts were put away for special occasions and sometimes never used! Lucky for us when we find these treasures many years later. A set of napkins in very good condition can sell anywhere from $12-24. Still a bargain at today’s prices!

I recently found this awesome set of napkins and tablecloth at a local auction. They are still perfectly folded and never used — probably from the last 50 years or so! I have this set listed at everythingvintagesteph.com for 25.00.

vintage apron

Vintage aprons can worth about $6-30. I have this one listed for 12.00. It is all hand made with cut out lace roses appliqued to form a basket of  flowers. Very creative!

teenage mutant ninja turtles sheet

And let’s not forget the 1980s! I bought a box full of smelly dirty sheets at a local auction for 1.00. Had to wash all of them of course but I found some great treasures Like this 1988 mutant ninja turtle sheet in almost new condition! There are quite a few listed on eBay but depending on the condition, a single sheet can be worth up to 25.00. I have mine listed (with a matching pillowcase) for 15.00…

vintage cookie cutters

vintage cookie cutters

Vintage cookie cutters are usually popular at this antique show that I do 3 times a year. This year, none of them sold until the last day when someone bought all of them at once. I had them priced at 5.00 a bag. Great deal! The rolling pin was 10.00 (did not sell) and I was trying out the vintage PYREX (mainly clear glass). The only thing that sold of the Pyrex was a measuring cup for 5.00. I sold one bag of clothespins.

vintage children's books

I always take a few vintage books. Children’s books seem to do the best. I sold a few of these at 3.00 each.

vintage Christmas deer

vintage Christmas deer

I try to take vintage Christmas items to the fall show. I only sold one angel this time. The vintage deer are plastic and really cute and I had them priced at 8.00 for all. I still have them and might list them in my eBay store at everythingvintagesteph.com

vintage bingo cards

vintage bingo cards

I did sell all the vintage Bingo cards I took. I had them at 1.00 each. They are popular for crafts such as making picture frames out of them. I have a few more that I am selling in my booth at the Zionsville Antique mall in Zionsville PA. Check out their site at zionsvilleantiques.com and come on up if you are in the area!

vintage phone and pottery

Nothing sold from this photo! The phone was priced at 20.00, the dragonware Florida sugar and creamer were priced at 3.00, and the USA pottery bowl with handle was priced at 9.00. Better luck next time!
